Jimu News (as reported by Pan Xiheng,and correspondent Wu Tiexuan): At 10:00 on June 18, the first inspection train 55163 made its debut run along the Xiangyang-Jingmen High-Speed Railway (hereinafter “Xiangjing High-Speed Railway”). Departing from Xiangyang East Station bound for Jingmen West Station, the train conducted comprehensive testing on central China’s newest highspeed railway track systems, overhead catenary systems, communications, and signaling equipment. This milestone marks the official launch of joint commissioning and testing for the railway, further solidifying plans for its unveiling within the year. Hubei’s first-ever high-speed rail loop is steadily approaching completion.

据了解，襄荆高铁位于鄂西北地区，线路北起湖北省襄阳市、经宜城市、南至荆门市，设计时速为350公里，正线全长约116.23公里，新建桥梁69座77.391公里，隧道16座21.033公里，桥隧占比84.7%。全线共设3座客运站，其中襄阳东站、荆门西站为既有站，宜城站为新建车站。
Reports indicate, the Xiangyang-Jingmen High-speed Railway is located in northwestern Hubei Province. The line begins in Xiangyang City in the north, continues through Yicheng City, and extends south to Jingmen City. It is set to operate at speeds of 350 km/h and covers a total distance of approximately 116.23 kilometers. The project also involves the construction of 69 new bridges spanning 77.391 kilometers and 16 new tunnels totaling 21.033 kilometers, with bridges and tunnels accounting for 84.7% of the railway’s overall length. The entire line has three passenger stations, among which Xiangyang East Station and Jingmen West Station are pre-existing stations, and Yicheng Station is newly built.
襄荆高铁于2022年9月开工建设，2025年4月全线铺轨施工顺利完成。铁路部门在高速铁路工程完成静态验收，确认达到联调联试条件后，采用测试列车和相关检测设备在规定测试速度下，对高速铁路各系统的功能、性能、状态和系统间匹配关系进行综合检测、验证和调整、优化，使整体系统达到设计标准。
Construction of the Xiangyang-Jingmen High-speed Railway began in September 2022, and the entire line’s track laying was completed in April 2025. Following preliminary approval of the high-speed railway project by railway authorities, confirming it met the conditions for joint debugging and testing, extensive testing, verification, adjustment, and optimization of the railway's various systems was underway. This process utilized test trains and related inspection equipment operating at designated test speeds to assess the functions, effectiveness, condition, and system compatibility of the entire high-speed railway, ensuring that the overall system meets the design standards.
襄荆高铁联调联试指挥部高级工程师张晶介绍，襄荆高铁北连郑渝高铁、南接沪渝蓉高铁，是我国“八纵八横”高速铁路主通道之一“呼南通道”的重要组成部分。襄荆高铁建成通车后，乘坐高铁从襄阳至荆门用时只需30分钟左右。
The Xiangyang-Jingmen High-speed Railway, a critical segment of China’s “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal”rail network, will connect the Zhengzhou-Chongqing HSR in the north with the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu HSR in the south upon completion. As a pivotal sectionof the national Hohhot-Nanning Corridor, it is expected to cuttravel time between Xiangyang and Jingmen to approximately 30 minutes by high-speed train, according to Zhang Jing, senior engineer at the Trial Operation Command Center.

Notably, upon itslaunch, the Xiangyang-Jingmen High-Speed Railway will cross paths with the Wuhan-Yichang HSR, the Hankou-Yichang Railway, and the Wuhan-Shiyan HSR creatinga “Golden Triangle”high-speed rail loop that connectsWuhan, Xiangyang, and Yichang. This network will enable one-hour travel between the three major cities in Hubei. As a key provincial rail corridor, this loop is essentialfor the Yangtze River Economic Belt to attainhigh-quality development. It further enables Hubei to assume astrategic rolein accelerating China’s “Rise of Central China”strategy.
