新年伊始，2月4日下午，湖北仙桃发生全网刷屏的马主骑白马救人事件。两天后，当地再次发生一起暖心事：一名男子落水，被十多名钓友合力救起。极目新闻记者梳理发现，近几年，这座小城已多次发生“小城大爱”刷屏全网的爱心事件。
At the beginning of the new year, on the afternoon of February 4th, the harrowing rescue story of a man riding his white horse to save a drowning person made headlines. Two days later, Xiantao City saw yet another heartwarming rescue. A man, who had slipped into water, was rescued by a group of fishermen. Reporters from Jimu News have since uncovered that, in recent years, this small town has witnessed several viral heartwarming rescues under the hashtag “Small Town, Big Hearts”.

“救命啊！”2月6日中午，仙桃通顺河纯良岭闸附近，传来一阵惊慌的呼救声。一名钓鱼男子不慎滑入通顺河，正在岸边钓鱼的数名钓鱼者，立刻跑向落水者想拉起落水男子。然而，河水流速很快，马上将该男子推到了离岸远处。有钓鱼者试图递出鱼竿和树枝，然而男子没有抓住。
“Help!” At noon on February 6th, a frantic cry for help was heard near the Chunliangling water-gate along the Tongshun River in Xiantao. A fisher had accidentally slipped into the river, when several anglers fishing by shore rushed to pull the drowning man to safety. However, the fast-moving current quickly pushed the man farther away from the shore. Some anglers attempted to extend fishing rods and branches to him, with no success.
“快用鱼钩钩他！”离落水者较远的钓鱼爱好者张呈勉灵机一动，拿着鱼竿边跑边喊。跑到落水者附近时，男子已经快漂至河中心，被河水冲向闸口附近十分危险。
“Quickly, use a hook to grab onto him!” After having this epiphany, Zhang Chengmian, an angler who was further away from the drowning man, ran toward the man clutching his fishing rod. When he reached the man, he was already drifting towards the center of the river and was now headed towards the water-gate putting him in grave danger.
当时，张呈勉正在直播，胸前的运动相机记录下了事件全过程。只见他抛出手中的路亚竿，第一下，就精准地钩住了落水钓友的羽绒服上臂位置。
Zhang Chengmian, who was live-streaming at the time, captured the entire saga with an action camera mounted on his chest. He hurled his lure rod, and on his first attempt, perfectly hooked onto the sleeve of the victim’s down jacket.
视频显示：钩住男子后的鱼竿，不断被拉力压弯，渔轮也在不断旋转，然而鱼线最终还是断掉，落水男子再次被河水冲远。
The video shows the fishing rod, hooked onto the man’s jacket, bent under the weight, the reel spinning continuously. However, the fishing line eventually snapped, and the man was swept further away by the current.
当时现场有十多个人，其他钓友见状也参与到救援中，有人丢出救生圈，有人去找绳子，还有人试图用自己的路亚竿钩住落水钓友。最后，一名钓友手持抄网，一下把落水钓友网住了。最后，在众多钓友齐心协力的帮助下，落水钓友被拉到岸边，整个过程不到10分钟。
Over ten anglers were present at the scene. Seeing the dire situation, other anglers also joined in the rescue effort. Some threw out life rings, others searched for ropes, and a few attempted to hook onto the drowning fisherman with their own lure rods. Finally, one fisherman managed to scoop the man out of the water with a hand net. Thanks to their collective efforts, the victim was pulled ashore in less than 10 minutes.

央视报道马主骑“白龙马”救人事件后，更是在全国激起强烈反响。众网友纷纷留言：“武侠小说里的场景照进了现实。”“前有马主携‘白龙马’救人，后有‘钓鱼侠’救落水者，仙桃真是个英雄辈出的城市。”
Following state broadcaster CCTV’s coverage on a horse owner riding his horse “Bailong” in a rescue, this story further sparked a strong nationwide response. Many netizens commented: “Scenes from a martial arts novel have come to life.” “First, the horse owner saved a life with his white horse and now the ‘Fishing Hero’ rescued a drowning person. Xiantao is truly a city full of heroes.”
2023年2月21日，在仙桃市西沟村，一辆小轿车与一辆货车相撞，小轿车失控滑入路旁河中，四脚朝天正快速往下沉去。在附近的村民刘玉龙和刘卫华见状，边呼喊边向河边跑去。刘玉龙第一个跳下水，他回忆说：“当时太着急了，手机、钱包都没来得及放下。”刘卫华紧随其后，接着越来越多的村民听到呼救，一同加入救援，大家俯身托住车子一侧，试图将车身回正。由于车身较重，加之河道淤泥较深，一时没有成功。有村民从家中拿来一根长尼龙绳，系在车梁上。随后，群众自发在岸边集结，岸上、岸下齐发力，进行“拔河式”救援。最终，将困在车内的母女救出。事后，初步统计，参与当日救援的有40多人，包括当地村民、村干部，驻村工作队员以及在村企上班的工人，他们中年龄最大的77岁，最小的20岁。
A sedan collided with a truck in Xigou Village, Xiantao City, on February 21, 2023. After losing control the sedan, plunged into a river by the roadside, flipped over, and began sinking rapidly. When nearby villagers Liu Yulong and Liu Weihua saw the situation, they immediately called for help and ran towards the riverbank. Liu Yulong was first to jump into the water. He recalled, “I was so anxious at the time that I didn’t even have time to take out my phone or wallet.” Liu Weihua followed closely behind, and soon more villagers joined in the rescue after hearing the cries for help. Together, they bend down to support one side of the car, in attempts to lift it upright. Due to the heavy weight of the car and the deep river silt, their attempts failed. A villager brought a long nylon rope from home and tied it to the car’s beam. Soon, a crowd gathered on the riverbank, with some on land and others in the water pulling together as one in the rescue. Ultimately, they were able to rescue the mother and daughter trapped inside the car. An initial figure indicated more than 40 people participated in the rescue, including local villagers, village officials, people from the village work team, and workers from nearby enterprises. The oldest participant was 77 years old, and the youngest was 20.
2024年2月初，南方多地出现雨雪冰冻天气，不少人滞留在返乡途中。2月4日，困在湖广高速公路仙桃段的滞留车主，收到附近村民用吊篮吊送的免费物资。滞留车主收到了热水、八宝粥、雪饼、方便面等。当车主问“咋卖？”一位阿姨边送热水边说“不卖！都是免费的！”，其声音传遍全国。
In early February 2024, heavy rain, snow, and icy conditions affected many areas in southern China, leaving many people stranded on their way home. On February 4th, drivers stuck on the Xiantao section of the Huguang Expressway received free supplies hoisted up in baskets by nearby villagers. The stranded drivers received hot water, rice porridge, rice cakes, instant noodles, and more. When a driver asked, “How much does it cost?” a volunteer, while handing over hot water, replied, “It’s free! All of it is free!” Her heartwarming words touched the hearts of people across the country.
