The construction of rail connecting line at Ezhou HuahuInternationalAirport, a cargo-focused hub airport in Hubei, officially started on Saturday.
With an estimated investment of 2.185 billion yuan, the projectstretches21.127 kilometers. The construction periodis expected to be three years.
Upon the completion of the project, goodswill be transported from Ezhou HuahuInternationalAirport to Yichang, Xiangyang and Suizhouvia rail freight trains, and even Hefei, Nanchang and Changsha in thenearfuture.
TheEzhou Huahu International Airport, which began operations in July 2022, is a cargo-focused hub airport with extensive cargo traffic and some passenger traffic. It has launched 51 domestic cargo routes and 26 international cargo routes. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
