高峡出平湖，当惊世界殊。今年，长江三峡成功蓄水至175米后，宜昌市兴山县的香溪河，如同一条迂回的画廊，风光奇绝，带着诗情画意。在优美的风光背后，有一群常年默默坚守的人。
香溪河风景如画 The picturesque Xiangxi River
From a high gorge, the vast lake emerges, astonishing all with its uniqueness. Xiangxi River located in Xingshan County, Yichang City, resembles a meandering gallery with its breathtaking scenery and poetic charm. This was especially evident this year after water in the Three Gorges was successfully captured to reach 175 meters. Committed to maintaining the beauty of Xiangxi River is a group of individuals working unwaveringly behind the scenes each year.
香溪河位于湖北省西部，全长97.3公里，流经兴山境内21公里，于香溪镇东侧注入长江，沿河两岸近万亩的柑橘园，郁郁葱葱，枝繁叶茂，青翠欲滴，橘香芬芳，使香溪河成为名副其实的香溪。据统计，香溪河兴山港区布局5个货运码头，每年进出港船舶达6000多艘次，货物吞吐量超过1000万吨。
Xiangxi River, located in the western part of Hubei Province, is a 97.3 kilometer that river runs 21 kilometers within the territory of Xingshan County and empties into the Yangtze River on the east side of Xiangxi Town. Nearly ten thousand acres of lush citrus orchards line riverbanks, lush and vibrant, exuding a fragrant citrus aroma, the river, truly living up to its name Xiangxi River which literally translates “fragrant stream”. Statistics show 5 cargo terminals are distributed in the Xingshan Port along Xiangxi River, with over 6,000 ships arriving at departing annually at the port, handling over 10 million tons of cargo.
向荣华是兴山的清漂负责人，主要工作任务是负责长江支流香溪河兴山境内各种漂浮物的清理工作。随着175米水位的到来，山上的枯枝落叶大量汇集河面，他正带领着同伴加紧清理。10月31日，向荣华向极目新闻记者介绍：“清漂队员们已经连续工作了18天，一年365天都有队员们轮流在船上值守，包括春节都不放假，河面上只要有一点垃圾，都会及时清理，保护长江是我们的工作，更是我们的职责。”
Xiang Ronghua, the head of the river cleaning team in Xingshan County, is in charge of removing various floating debris from Xiangxi River, a tributary of the Yangtze River. Since the rise in water levels to 175-meters, a large number of dry branches and fallen leaves from the mountains have gathered on the river surface. Xiang Ronghua is leading his colleagues and speeding up cleaning efforts. He told reporters from Jimu News on October 31st, “Our team members have been working continuously for 18 days. They take shifts on boats every day throughout the year, including the Spring Festival. Whenever there is any litter in the river, we promptly clean it up. Protecting the Yangtze River is not just our job; it’s our duty”.
每天清晨，向荣华都会和同伴们一道驾船巡河，然后将码头船只的生活垃圾、油污垃圾清运到垃圾收集船上，分别输送到垃圾、污水处理厂进行无害化处理。
Every morning, Xiang Ronghua and his colleagues patrol the river by boat, collecting domestic waste and oil waste on docked boats and transporting it to garbage collection vessels. The waste is then respectively transferred to waste and sewage treatment plants for safe disposal.
与此同时，当地环保、海事等部门常年开展联合执法，确保一河净水汇长江。据兴山环保局环境监测站站长王曦介绍，他们每月都对香溪河水质进行检测，包括水温、PH值，溶解氧、氨、氮、总磷等二十多个项目，地表水整体状况向好，达到地表水环境质量二类和三类标准。

At the same time, local environmental protection and maritime authorities collaborate on law enforcement activities year-round to ensure the cleanliness of the river and Yangtze River overall. According to Wang Xi, the director of the Environmental Monitoring Station of the Xingshan Environmental Protection Bureau, they conduct monthly water quality tests on the Xiangxi River in over twenty parameters such as water temperature, pH levels, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrogen, total phosphorus and so on. The results show that the overall quality of surface water has been improving and meets the standards for surface water environmental quality of Class II and Class III.
青山如黛风恰好，碧波荡漾入画来。秀美的峡江风光，美丽的乡村美景，吸引了不少人才返乡就业。峡口镇青年干部卢诗雨说：“上下班的路上打开相机的次数是越来越多，看到这青山碧水，便不禁想记录这一刻。我可以非常自豪地告诉大家，我就住在长江之畔，昭君故里，和美兴山，在这里工作得很安心，生活得很舒心。”
The light breeze caresses dark green mountains, and the gentle ripples of blue waters unfold into a picturesque scene. The stunning landscapes of the Xiangxi River and the beauty of the countryside, have attracted many talents to return home for employment. Lu Shiyu, a young cadre in Xiakou Town, said, “I find myself opening my camera more these days on my way to and from work. Every time I see these green mountains and clear waters, I can't help but want to capture the moment. I can proudly say that I live in the beautiful Xingshan Town by the Yangtze River, the hometown of Wang Zhaojun. I have a fulfilling career and comfortable life here.”
